Anonymous Expands

The hacking group Anonymous has expanded their work into corporate analytics. Their first piece, published today, reports on the activity of a Chinese agricultural company with 8.5B market capitalization that they claim is a fraud. Here's an overview: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/anonymous-enters-securities-analysis-alleges-hong-kongs-hk-85-billion-chaoda-next-sino-forest. The website the article is on, ZeroHedge, is worth checking out too. They post anonymous blog entries seeking to expose true market trends from the eyes of (anonymous) industry insiders. It's very jargon-dense, but good information.

This was indeed very interesting! The report raises all sorts of interesting questions about corporate responsibility and cyber vigilantism. Personally I approve of what Anonymous Analytics did here however there is a fine line between reasonable transparency and encroaching on a companys privacy. good post.

And for those didnt catch it, here is the deliciously dramatic and enigmatic last lines of the report:

"At the beginning of this report we mentioned that we are in possession of certain information, which given its nature we have decided against publishing.Instead, the information has been encrypted, stored online, and protected with a codeword. Consider this insurance – for us, our associates, and our consultants. If we feel the safety and anonymity of any party has been jeopardized, we will release the codeword into the public domain."
