my 22nd birthday day

FAY BAINBRIDGE STATE PARK

So Dante and I spoke over the phone, and we thought that it might be worthwhile to make it all the way to La Push over Thanksgiving weekend. As much fun as I thought that would be, I looked at the forecast, and the weather gods said that it should pour for the next week and a half. Also, it takes 3.5 hours to get there, and Matt could not come if we planned for the 25th.

That got me thinking, perhaps we should just go to Fay Bainbridge? We could have a lovely little barbecue (under the kitchen shelters if need be), and then camp out that night. It would cost $21.00 for every 8 people. They also charge an extra $10.00 for each extra vehicle (is there a way around this?)...

I thought we could plan for the night of the 21st, and then my birthday would fall on the 22nd! Woooh! This would start a week from tomorrow, or this coming Monday. That way Matt can come!

Thanksgiving Break Trip?

We had come up with this idea a bit ago to rent a cabin on Mt. Rainier, part of the Mount Tahoma Trail Association, for a night over the break and ski and/or snow shoe in to enjoy a beautiful night in a beautiful place with some semi beautiful people. Information about the huts can be found HERE, the image above if of high hut, which I was thinking would be our best option, as we could rent the whole thing and the views are incredible. Schedules over the break will vary, and probably not every one will be able to to go, but we should try our best. My thoughts were for the day after Thanksgiving (11/25)

On November 12th at Bonnie Lake high school I will be competing in the Revolution grappling tournament. I would love for anybody that's interested to come out and see what the worlds most effective martial art is all about. Any one that does come out is required to buy me a beer afterwards if I take first in my weight class. I hope everyone is doing well.

Has anyone heard of Franco Denicola??

Ran across this documentary and tried to watch it...in the end it was too anthropocentric to bear and the people were all white and commercial which felt really fake. It is notable though for what it attempts to tackle...kinda felt like a spiritual zeitgeist kinda film...the underlying structure of ideas felt kind of Buddhist. i feel it has good intentions but some how got trapped in an anthropocentric conception of spirit like it attempts to meld contemporary rational perception over eastern philosophy...I would be curious what other's take would be of this film?? also there is some interesting dialogue on the documentaryheaven version of the film CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT--follow jriley's comments

I just got hired as a trip leader for outdoor center(so stoked!)and was assigned to the back country ski trip this quarter. I wanted to let the local peninsula kids know that I will be game for ski trips any time this season to regain my formerly awe inspiring(slightly above average) skiing form.

Anonymous Expands

The hacking group Anonymous has expanded their work into corporate analytics. Their first piece, published today, reports on the activity of a Chinese agricultural company with 8.5B market capitalization that they claim is a fraud. The website the article is on, ZeroHedge, is worth checking out too. They post anonymous blog entries seeking to expose true market trends from the eyes of (anonymous) industry insiders. It's very jargon-dense, but good information.
