Hitrecord.org
HITRECORD.ORG is a project I started almost five years ago now, and in 2010, we evolved into a professional open collaborative production company. We create and develop art and media collaboratively here on our site. Even this introductory video is the remixed result of a great many contributions. So rather than just exhibiting and admiring each other's work as isolated individuals, we gather here to collectively work on projects together. Videos, writing, photography, music, anything -- we call them all RECords.
Now and then, when I think something we've made has come out especially well, I approach the traditional entertainment industry to turn our work into money-making productions; and then we share any profits with the contributing artists.

UFC 134 tomorrow night in Rio de jeneiro!!!
All the fights on the main card will definitely be worth watching (except the lightweight and light heavyweight bouts) but the must watch fight of the night is obviously Anderson Silvas title defense against Yushin Okami. In addition to the main card, palhares vs miller is going to be a great fight. Palhares is,"the most naturally gifted grappler in the UFC" according to Joe Rogan and he has a ridicules submission highlight reel to show it. Palhares' nick name is Toquinho, meaning tree stump in portugese. judging by this picture id say the name is pretty fitting....

For all the Spanish speakers here...
http://www.quetzaltrekkers.com/guatevolunteer.html
This is a non profit organization that guides groups of paying customers (profit goes to street children in guatemala)and groups of at risk youth through the mountains and jungles of Guatemala. The organization takes applicants with the following qualities to be volunteer guides:
-A 3 month minimum time commitment (not including a 10-day trial/training period beforehand);
-A minimum intermediate Spanish language ability;
-A first aid qualification;
-Some sort of outdoor or trekking experience;
-Good people-skills; and,
-The ability to work as a member of a team.
This would be an INCREDIBLE opportunity to explore the world, explore the wilds, hone your spanish and beef up a resume. One of my friends knows someone who volunteered and said that he only had amazing things to say about it. just do it.

Expository Essay #1
Let us start here:
Who are you?
What do you want?
What prevents you from moving forward?
What do you need?
These set of questions can be seen in any temporal context you wish. They will provide an intriguing mosaic; contrasting the identities and underlying desires we currently embody.

Getting Some Thinking Going
I have an idea that I've discussed with a few people, most recently with Chris today. Here's the premise:
-We each think of a question that would lend itself to an answer in the form of a short, expository essay
-We take turns posing questions (or premises, problems, etc.) and answering them thoughtfully, honestly and creatively
-Each person writes their responses BEFORE they read others'; this encourages originality.
-We post our responses and discuss.
Why take the time to do this? I think what we're all looking for with the blog is a way to stay close to each other personally and intellectually during the times that we're spread out around the world. By requiring intellectual buy-in and posing our own questions, we can encourage creative thinking, learn from each others' perspectives, and play around with some challenging ideas and concepts. I think a question-a-month format would probably work pretty well.
So far I've talked to and received feedback from: Chris, Corbin, Mikail, and Dante. Anybody else in?
